Broadcast – Fight Isis
Policy arguments are usually put in terms of left or right, Republican or Democrat. Sometimes both sides are wrong. An example of this was the decision to invade Iraq in 2003, now seen as the greatest foreign policy mistake since Vietnam. The liberal New York Times endorsed the invasion, along with conservative papers like the Wall Street Journal. Most Republicans and many Democrats supported the invasion as well. After listening to the presidential debates, it’s clear neither party knows how to respond to Isis or has the courage to defeat it. The Islamic State desires a global caliphate just as the Nazis sought world domination. The Germans exterminated millions of Jews; Isis tortures, beheads and rapes its victims. The hard truth is the only way to stop Isis is to work with Russia’s Vladimir Putin and other tyrants, just as the U.S. did with Josef Stalin to defeat Hitler. But not a single candidate has the guts to say it.
