Health care Excuses

May 29, 2015 Broadcast – Healthcare Excuses

A listener to Powerful Truths criticized my support for the “Affordable Care Act.” He said changes to health care could have been achieved less costly and less intrusively by expanding Medicaid or providing vouchers to purchase health insurance. He’s right. Obamacare is unaffordable and Washington didn’t need to spend trillions to take over the entire medical system.

But if Republicans cared about provided access to insurance for every American, including those with pre-existing conditions, why didn’t they do it when they controlled Congress during the Bush years? The “Hard Truth” is when they had the chance to reform health care, they did nothing.
