Broadcast – Obama verses Bush
A lot of my friends with conservative leanings have expressed bitter feelings toward the President. Usually it has to do with Obama’s support for higher spending, increased taxes and racial preferences. I don’t agree with those policies either and especially dislike race and gender-based programs and support for violent protestors in places like Ferguson, Missouri.
But when it comes to comparing Presidents, everything’s relative. More importantly, how does Obama compare with his predecessor? The hard truth is George W. Bush was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands in Iraq. He instituted the torture of prisoners and led the country into the worst recession since “The Great Depression.” If nothing else, there’ve been far fewer innocent lives lost under Obama than the Bush administration. It’s easy to bash big government, but I wonder how the families and friends of those who died in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars would respond? I’m Phil Heimlich.
